Kevin Giordano PT, DPT, Ph.D.

Dr. Giordano is a former baseball player turned clinician and researcher. He holds a doctorate in physical therapy from Creighton University and a PhD in Kinesiology (biomechanics track) from Auburn University. He is currently an assistant professor of physical therapy at Louisiana State University Health Science Center and a special advisor for biomechanics to the Miami Marlins. His research has spearheaded progress in in-game investigations and improving quantitative analysis in baseball research. On the ABBS board of directors, his primary goal will be to collaborate with the rest of the board and members to establish frameworks for lines of research to increase the impact and applicability to the practice of clinicians and biomechanists looking to improve player performance and safety. He also aims to establish a “curriculum” of resources for trainees to obtain the most sought after skills by professional and private baseball organizations with the goal of increasing student member competitiveness in the baseball job market.
